The Striation series commences with an assemblage of thrown vessels composed into a totem form as a canvas for textural and glaze explorations.  An undulating sculptural vessel which is enveloped by interwoven textural tendrils. Inspired by geological furrows and fault lines, these striations crawl across the surface of the work, growing around it. Referencing elements of the earth, copper carbonate oxide is used on the tendrils and emerges in the firing in unexpected ways giving a varied patina to the surface.
